• 大多数人自以为掌握着答案，而这种自以为是恰恰阻碍了他们接近真相。真正有益的做法，是保持追问，以厘清自己前行的方向。事实上，很多人从不提问，只是习惯性地自行脑补答案。

• 要成为优秀的研究者，不要急于回答问题，而要学会质疑自己的答案。当你需要了解事实时，必须主动探询，而非仅凭假设。很多人不愿提问，是因为提问会迫使自己直面现实处境——这令人不安；更何况，提问还意味着要去思考，而思考本身是费力的，这正是人们逃避提问的根本原因。

• 一旦问题被提出，立刻着手求解。从简单的例子入手。

• 始终从第一原理出发，反复阐明自己究竟想做什么。

• 相信这个问题是可以解决的，并且相信你会在解题过程中享受乐趣。

• 不要被原始问题的表述所束缚。探索其"邻域"中的其他问题——也许存在比眼前更好的问题值得去问。

• 每隔一段时间就花上一小时思考它，谈论它，向别人解释它。
